Gothenburg improved to 6 and 1 on the season with a 36-7 win over Cozad Friday night in Gothenburg. After a scoreless 1st quarter, Gothenburg went ahead 14 to 0, but Cozad answered back to make it 14 to 7. The Swedes scored once more to take a 20 to 7 lead into the locker room. After a scoreless 3rd quarter, Gothenburg added 16 in the 4th quarter to pull away. Gothenburg rushed for 430 yards with Mark Hilderbrand, Landon Haake and Tannor Mroczek going for over 100 yards each. For Cozad, Mason Fisher rushed for 63 yards and caught 3 passes for 74 yards and 1 touchdown. Gothenburg goes on the road next week to Ainsworth while Cozad will be home against Broken Bow. The Haymakers are now 3 and 4 on the season.

Eustis Farnam was downed by Maxwell on Friday night 52-12. Maxwell started the game by jumping out to a 30-0 first half lead. Eustis Farnam was limited to just 186 total yards. Each team is now 5-2 on the season Eustis Farnam wraps up the regular season on Thursday at home against Elwood and we will have the game on AM 880.

The Elwood Pirates knocked off Medicine Valley 50-32. Elwood took a 34-14 halftime lead and was able to pull away for the victory. Braeden Banzhaf had another good game throwing for 235 yards and 4tds. Tanner Nelson had 6 receptions for 146 yards. Brandt Banzahf led the Pirate defense with 18 tackles. The Pirates are now 3-4, Medicine Valley falls to 1-6.

The Lexington Minutemen picked up their biggest win of the season rallying to knock off top ten ranked Ogallala 34-26 on the road. RJ Seeberger threw 3 tds for the Minutemen, two went to Hawken Albus and the other was a 36 yarder to Andrew Rios. Tyler McKeon also made a huge play for Lexington as the junior linebacker picked off a pass and returned it 35 yards for the score to give Lexington an 8 point lead with 1:28 left in the 4th quarter. Lexington then stopped Ogallala at the Lexington 21 yard line with just 7 seconds left in the game. Lexington is now 5-3 on the year while Ogallala falls to 6-2. The Minutemen wrap up the season at 1-7 Holdrege on Friday night. That game can be heard on 93.1 KRVN FM.

SEM stopped a 4 game losing streak downing Brady 32-20. The Mustangs jumped out quickly 18 to nothing in the first quarter and never looked back. Quarterback Travis Line had a big night rushing for two scores, passing for two tds and he also caught a td pass. Zach Burden led the Mustang defense with 12 tackles.
