The McCook Bison defeated the Lexington Minutemen 35 to 0 in Lexington Friday night to improve their record to five and two on the season while the Minutemen fell to four and three. After an even first half, the Bison put together an 85 yard drive in the closing moments of the first half and scored on a Chad Stull to Mark Nichols pass from four yards out with just 11 seconds showing on the clock. Lexington had controlled the first quarter rolling up 133 yards of offense but was unable to score despite getting inside the McCook 30 yard line three times. The weather changed abruptly just as the 1st half was closing as the north wind and snow blew through Lexington. With a 35 to 40 mph wind behind their back, McCook scored twice in the third quarter and added two more scores in the fourth to roll pass Lexington. In the third quarter, Stull scored from four yards out on a keeper around the right end after Lexington could not move the ball and a punt only traveled out to the Minutemen’s own 37 yard line. Two minutes later Andy Smith broke free on a 56 yard run and McCook held a 21 to 0 lead heading into the fourth period.
In the final frame Stull scampered on a cut back 85 yards for his second touchdown and moments later added a third and final TD with six minutes remaining to close out the scoring. McCook rolled up 450 yards of offense with 372 coming on the ground. Stull had 141 on the ground and 78 through the air scoring three touchdowns rushing and threw for another.
