Freeman off to quick start

MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) _ After saying before the season he thought he was the best quarterback in the Big 12, Josh Freeman acts as though he's bent on proving it. His quest takes him into a cat fight tomorrow night -- his Kansas State Wildcats against the Montana State Bobcats. In the Wildcats' 45-6 pounding of North Texas, the 6-foot-5 Freeman was 18-for-24 -- three of them good for touchdowns -- and threw to nine different receivers. Brandon Banks had three catches for 88 yards and two touchdowns while Freeman became the first Kansas State quarterback since 1997 to account for five TDs. But the Wildcats face an experienced team in Montana State. K-State coach Ron Prince says the Bobcats have eight seniors on offense and nine offensive players with two or more years of experience. That showed last week -- the Bobcats buried Division II Adams State 59-3.
