Hastings College picks up awards

Seniors, Lindsay Ducey and Kim Faimon, added another award to their long list of accolades being selected to the All American Team.

Lindsay Ducey, a 6'1" forward from Omaha, NE, was selected 1st Team NAIA All American for the 3rd straight year. Ducey led the team with an average of 19.2 points a game and 9.1 rebounds a game. These marks were also good enough to rank her second in the conference. Ducey was selected 1st Team All Conference for the 3rd straight year as well. Furthermore, she is Hastings College career scoring leader and broke the 2,000 point barrier against Morningside in the semifinals of the Conference Tournament.

Kim Faimon, a 5'5" guard from Lawrence, NE, was selected to the NAIA Honorable Mention All America Team. Faimon led the team in steals with 2.88 a game which placed her 2nd in the conference and assists with 3.52 a game which placed her 5th in the conference. Faimon was voted as a 1st Team All Conference selection and the GPAC Defensive Player of the Year.

Ducey and Faimon were major cogs in a team that finished the regular season with a record of 30-3 and a conference record of 17-1. The team swept the GPAC crowns winning both the regular season and the tournament. Hastings finished the final couple of weeks as the top team in the country and was seeded as the #1 team for the National Tournament.



Slough Named to the NAIA All American Team

Senior, Jeremiah Slough, added to his list of accolades today being selected 2nd Team NAIA All American. Slough, a 6'1" guard from Doniphan, NE, led the team and conference in assists with an average of 6.29 per game and was second in steals with 2.48 per game. Slough was also selected 1st Team All Conference and the Co-Defensive Player of the Year for the second straight year. Furthermore, he holds the school record and conference record for most points scored in a game at 61 against Midland Lutheran.

Slough was a major player in a team that finished 24-9 and 13-5 in the conference which was good enough for 3rd in the tough GPAC. The team qualified for an at large berth in the NAIA National Tournament, and the Broncos won the 1st round game in come- from- behind fashion.
