Neb.'s Johanns to inspect Guantanamo facility
Sen. Johanns
OMAHA, Neb. (AP) _ U.S. Sen. Mike Johanns says he'll tour the Navy's prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. The Nebraska Republican said Friday's one-day visit will help him determine whether President Barack Obama's executive order to close the terrorist detention center within a year has merit. Johanns said Thursday that he thinks the idea is a mistake. The administration has yet to say what it will do with the approximately 240 Guantanamo detainees, but Defense Secretary Robert Gates has said that between 50 and 100 would end up in U.S. facilities. Johanns says he fears some terrorists could end up in prisons near Nebraska. ___
