Lex. man arraigned on attempted murder and assault charges
William G. Fellers III
A Lexington man was arraigned Tuesday in Dawson County Court on a charge of attempted 1st degree murder and assault charges for an altercation Saturday at a rural residence that sent a woman to Tri-County Hospital. Court documents contain allegations that the defendant attempted to forcibly have sex with the victim, put a T-shirt around her neck cutting off her air supply and made threats against her life. 51 year old William G. Fellers III faces charges of strangulation, terroristic threats, 1st degree false imprisonment, 1st degree sexual assault, attempted 1st degree murder, 3rd degree assault and violation of a protection order.

Lexington Police and Dawson County Sheriff's Deputies were called to a disturbance at a Lexington business shortly before 9:00 p.m. Saturday. The woman said she had been assaulted. Sheriff's deputies took the defendant to jail and the woman was taken to the hospital. It was noted in court documents that a protection order showed the only allowable contact between the victim and defendant to be by telephone or counseling together. The matter remains under investigation by the Dawson County Sheriff's Office. Fellers next court appearance, a preliminary hearing, was set for Nov. 20 at 3 p.m.
