Neb. church fills 360 Thanksgiving food baskets
NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (AP) _ A North Platte church that filled the charity void left by a strapped Salvation Army outpost has handed out about 360 baskets of food for Thanksgiving. Nina Morgan with Harvest Christian Fellowship says there were enough baskets to help all the low-income people or families who asked for some holiday help. The local Salvation Army said it had to cancel its Thanksgiving donations because it couldn't find enough for both Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets. The group announced earlier this fall that it would operate only the Christmas program. Harvest Christian Fellowship stepped forward to handle the Thanksgiving baskets. ___
