Spring crane migration winding down in Neb.
HASTINGS, Neb. (AP) _ Bird watchers who have not had a chance to see the spring migration of thousands of sandhill cranes this year had better hurry. Most of the cranes are flying out of the state on their way to nest further north. In fact, the Wings Over the Platte crane-viewing facility in Alda is shutting down to bird watchers on Wednesday. The Grand Island Visitor's Bureau says it doesn't have exact numbers on how many people visited the center this spring, but says visitors from all 50 states and 14 other countries have turned out to see the cranes.
