Nebraska food stamp sites to close
LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) _ State officials are closing five extra sites where Nebraskans were able to get food stamps following severe storms in May and June. Special sites in Lexington, Kearney, Schuyler, Ceresco and the Millard Fire Station in Omaha will be closing Monday, under orders from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Three sites in Omaha will remain open through July 21 to serve people hit by the June 27 storm that knocked out power to thousands of people. The sites are open six days a week. By last week, the extra state sites had approved disaster food stamp benefits of more than $183,000. ___ On the Net: Department of Health and Human Services: http://www.hhs.state.ne.us/
