First snow of big storm begins to fall in Nebraska
OMAHA, Neb. (AP) _ Snow has started falling in parts of central and western Nebraska as the state prepares for what could be two days of wintry weather. The flurries began Monday evening in Ogallala, Ainsworth and O'Neill, and the National Weather Service predicted that much of the state would receive at least an inch of snow overnight. But the brunt of the storm isn't expected to hit Nebraska until Tuesday afternoon. That's when central Nebraska is expected to receive 4-to-6 inches of snow, and parts of southeastern Nebraska could receive more than a foot of snow. Strong winds are expected to follow the snow, creating drifts and possibly blizzard conditions on Tuesday night and Wednesday. ___ On the Net: National Weather Service regional site: http://www.crh.noaa.gov/crh/
