Entrepreneurship courses to offered

By Dave Schroeder

An entrepreneurship training course will soon be offered in west-central Nebraska. Melissa Garcia, with the Center for Enterprise at Mid-Plains Community College, says it will be offered in Mullen, McCook, Ogallala and North Platte through distance learning.

There will be one instructor for the course but, there will be a local professional at each individual location. The local professionals, also known as business coaches, sit with the group and also meet with participants "one-on-one" to help develop your business plan and financial plan for a business that you may be interested in starting. Or if you are an existing business owner, you can receive help in some areas you may want to change or expand.

An overview of the courses will be presented in a free, no obligation workshop planned for the evening of May 6th at the south campus of the Mid-Plains College in North Platte from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Other sponsors of the training courses include West Central Nebraska Development District, the Lincoln County Entrepreneurship Coalition and Sandhills R, C and D. For more information about the free workshop or the entrepreneurship courses, contact Melissa Garcia at (308) 535-3682; toll free at (800) 658-4308 ext. 3682.
