Lex. food drive nets 5,500 items

A food drive conducted by Lexington Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts and Heartland Family Chiropractic, P.C. matched by Plum Creek Market Place collected nearly 5,500 items for the Lexington Food Pantry. Lexington scouts held their Scouting for Food Drive, going door to door last weekend picking up sacks of food donated by residents of the community. Heartland Family Chiropractic's food drive involved weeks of collecting donated food from clients and staff. Sarah Anderson oversees the food pantry in her role as Community Services Coordinator. Anderson says Plum Creek Market Place doubled everything brought in by the scouts and Heartland Family Chiropractic, P.C. Anderson labeled it one of the better food drives in recent years for the food pantry. The food pantry can be found at Community Action Partnership of Mid-Nebraska, located at 931 West 7th Street in Lexington.
