Survey: More Neb. parents want private school
OMAHA, Neb. (AP) _ The results of a survey about K-12 education in Nebraska says more parents would rather send their children to private school. The findings from The Friedman Foundation for Educational Choice say 44 percent of parents want their children to go to private school, but only 12 percent of Nebraska students actually do. The foundation did not examine why more parents who prefer private school weren't enrolling their children there. The survey also found that only 21 percent of parents would choose to send their children to a regular public school and that 11 percent would opt for a charter school. The Indianapolis-based Friedman Foundation advocates for school choice. ___ On the Net: The Friedman Foundation for Educational Choice, http://www.friedmanfoundation.org/Welcome.do
