PETA Releases Video From Turkey Farm
Just in time for Thanksgiving, PETA has released another video, this time focusing on the mistreatment of turkeys. PETA says the more than two month investigation took place at Aviagen Turkeys, Incorporated in West Virginia. Aviagen Turkeys claims to be the – world’s leading poultry breeding company. PETA says their investigator documented that workers tortured, mutilated, and maliciously killed turkeys. Employee actions include: stomping on turkeys’ heads; struck turkeys’ heads against metal scaffolding; and a supervisor, according to PETA, said he saw workers kill 450 turkeys with 2-by-4s.
PETA says its investigator repeatedly brought abuses to a supervisor's attention. The supervisor responded, - every once in a while, everybody gets agitated and has to kill a bird. PETA also brought the abuse to the attention of Aviagen, and although the company made assurances and instituted some new rules, the cruelty did not stop.
