Bertrand feedlot ordered to pay fine for discharge
Dahlgren Cattle Company of Bertrand, Nebraska has pleaded guilty to discharging livestock waste into the Cottonwood Waterfowl Production area. The company was ordered to pay a fine of $12,000 and will be on probation for three years. On July 3rd of 2007 the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality received the complaint of discharge. The feedlot had previously been assessed a civil penalty for a similar discharge which occurred in 2002.
