Crop insurance deadlines looming for growers
The wet and soggy fall continues to plague farmers trying to harvest their crops. From dry beans to millet, sunflowers and corn...there are a lot of crops out in the field that are waiting to be harvested. The insurance deadline for millet and dry beans was October 31st. Farmers need to let their agent know if they have not completed harvest immediately! The deadline for sunflowers is November 30th and corn is December 10th. If the crop is not harvest by the insurance deadline, then the crop is no longer covered by insurance. Farmers are advised to contact their insurance agent if they will are still harvesting by the deadline. If farmers have moldy corn or if elevators are rejecting your crop then you need to seek additional support from your insurance agent.
