The 4-H Premier Animal Science Event (PASE) and Life Challenge was held at the NU College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources in Lincoln, June 29-30, 2009. PASE is designed to offer educational activities for youth in different animal science curriculum areas that deal with the science and business of producing domestic livestock. The Life Challenge event is designed to help youth learn about issues related to family and consumer sciences. This two-day event offered a fun and educational environment, mixed with a chance to be recognized for Nebraska 4-H members.
4-H members attending from Furnas County included Lance Hilker and Taren Hilker, both from Cambridge, and Logan Warner from Arapahoe.
Lance and Taren participated in senior division livestock judging. Logan Warner participated in intermediate livestock judging. He was recognized as 1st place individual in swine judging, 4th place individual in reasons, and 8th place individual overall in the intermediate division. Sixty five contestants were entered in the intermediate division.
Noel Mues, Extension Educator, accompanied the 4-H members and assisted with the
PASE activities.
