25th Four-State Beef Conference
LINCOLN, Neb. -- Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas and Missouri cattlemen can receive an annual update on current cow-calf and stocker topics during the 25th annual Four-State Beef Conference Jan. 14 and 15.

The Nebraska session will begin at 4 p.m. Jan. 14 at the Community Building in Tecumseh. Other sessions will be offered at 10 a.m. Jan. 14 at the First National Bank in Washington, Kan.; at 10 a.m. Jan. 15 at the ISU Armstrong Research Farm in Lewis, Iowa, and 4 p.m. Jan. 15 at the Eiberger Building in King City, Mo.

Extension specialists from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln have again teamed with counterparts from Kansas State University, Iowa State University and the University of Missouri to provide a forum from four of the U.S.'s leading beef cattle land-grant universities, said Rick Rasby, UNL Extension beef specialist.

"The conference planning committee has designed an excellent program that should have something of interest to all beef producers," Rasby said.

Speakers and topics include: Rasby, UNL, Update on Storing Co-Products; Darrell Mark, UNL, Economics of Storing Co-Products; Vern Anderson, North Dakota State University, Drylotting Beef Cows; and Barry Dunn, executive director of the King Ranch Institute for Ranch Management, Texas A&M University, Kingsville, Whole Herd Management Strategies for Tough Times.

The registration fee is $25 per person and reservations are requested by Jan. 9. The fee includes a beef meal and a copy of the conference proceedings. To keep registration fees affordable in the future, please help us by calling in your reservations.
