The President and CEO of Tyson Foods has abruptly quit his position. Dick Bond has announced he is leaving the company - effectively immediately. A posting on the company’s web page had no further information regarding Bond’s reasons for leaving or his future plans.
Bond did say that after seven years of helping lead or leading the world's largest meat company – he’s decided it is in his best interest personally - and the best interest of the company to move on and pursue other interests. He continued that he has a lot of time and personal finances invested in Tyson Foods and wishes the company all the best for future success.
Former Chairman and CEO Leland Tollett has agreed to return to the company as interim president and CEO until a permanent successor is named. Tyson spokesman Gary Mickelson told Meatingplace.com that the company will file a form 8-K with the SEC later this week - which will contain additional information regarding Bond's departure.
