“Don’t Get Behind in the Beef Industry” is the theme for this years satellite beef short courses presented by University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension. According to Larry Howard, Extension Educator in Cuming County, the four part course is set for the evenings of December 8, December 15, January 12, and January 19. The course will target diverse topics that will have implications for 2009. The program hosted by UNL Extension Specialists will be from 7-9 p.m. each evening. The topics are:
December 8, 2008 – COOL for the Beef Producer
December 15, 2008 - Beef Cow Herd Biosecurity and Trich Management Consideration.
January 12, 2009 - Recessive Genes in Beef Cattle Production
January 19, 2009 - Production Tips to Increase Profit Potential in the Cow/Calf Enterprise.
There will be a question and answer time at the end of each session. The UNL Extension office in Cuming County will be one of the downlink sites. For other sites contact your local UNL Extension Office.
