Nebraskans urged to thank farmers next week
LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) _ State officials have chosen this year's theme for National Agriculture Week. It's ``Nebraska Agriculture: Thank a Farmer.'' Greg Ibach (EYE-bah) is director of the state Agriculture Department. He says the theme is fitting because farmers ``work so hard to raise the food, fuel and fiber on which we all rely.'' Agriculture is the state's top industry. Ibach says it contributed more than $17 billion to the Nebraska economy in 2009. National Agriculture Week begins Sunday and runs through next Saturday, which has been designated National Agriculture Day. ___ On the Net: Nebraska Agriculture Department: http://www.agr.state.ne.us/
