Kansas honey production down

HUTCHINSON, Kan. (AP) _ Kansas honey production has been cut in half since 2004. Some would blame Colony Collapse Disorder, but Kansas is still one of the states unaffected by the phenomenon. K-State entomologist James Nechols said the state's honey losses could be blamed on the environment, drought patterns, reduction of floral sources and retiring beekeepers.
