At the Scottsbluff FFA annual banquet, members were honored for their contributions during the 2007 - 2008 school year.
The Star Greenhand Award presented to Kenny Willman. The Star Ag Placement Award went to Chelsie Weidaman and the Star Chapter Farmer Award Cody Pedulla.
Scholarship pens were presented to Freshman Danielle Becker, Sophomore Nikki Carlson, Junior Cody Pedulla and Senior Emily Bauer.
The chapter Agricultural Sales Career Development team won the State competition and qualilfied for the National competition. The team of Emily Bauer, Austin Propp, Brittany Shaneman, and Krista Fulk - were recognized as a Silver Emblem team at the 80th National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana last October.
Chelsie McKenzie was recognized for winning the State Proficiency in Agricultural Services.
This summer, along with more than 2,300 other FFA members, Shelby Winchell and Sarah Ashenbrenner will represent the Scottsbluff FFA chapter to travel to Washington, D.C. for the Washington Leadership Conference 2008. A 5-day leadership conference focused on developing leadership, problem solving skills, relationship building, character development and and living to serve.
KNEB Farm News Director Larry Hubbard was also honored for his long-time promotion of young people in agriculture and service to the Scottsbluff FFA chapter. Congratulations to all FFA members for a great year.
The FFA Appreciation Award was presented to Scottsbluff High English teacher Sharon Mehsing.
The Honorary FFA degree was presented to Gary and Marsha Bauer.
The night activities concluded with the installment of the 2008-2009 senior officer team. Sentinel- Jaimee Rogers, Parliamentarian- Sarah Fulk, Reporter- Shelby Duncan, Treasurer- Tiffany Jones, Secretary- Sara Aschenbrenner, 2nd Vice President- Brittany DeCrocker Vice President- Shelby Winchell, and President - Cody Pedulla. Bob Pedulla and Shane Talkington are the chapter advisors.
